As Greenland undertakes a major transformation of its airport network, ACAMS Tower Solutions is playing a key role in modernizing air traffic control operations across several strategic airports, supporting Greenland Airports in their journey toward more efficient, digital, and future-ready operations.
At the heart of this approach is a clear objective: simplifying air traffic control operations. By integrating multiple systems into one unified interface, ACAMS enables controllers to manage operations more easily, with improved clarity and reduced workload, bringing most critical functions together on a single screen.
Through a first phase delivered in collaboration with Spanish integrator COMSA, ACAMS has deployed a comprehensive suite of solutions at Nuuk (GOH), while Qaqortoq (JJU) was recently approved and Ilulissat (JAV) that is set to open in October this year.
A fully integrated tower environment
At the core of the project lies ACAMS’ Integrated Tower (I-TWR) platform, complemented by the Technical Control & Monitoring System (TCMS) – providing intuitive monitoring and control for airport systems.
ACAMS further expanded its footprint with the delivery of its ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service) solution, first implemented at Nuuk and progressively being rolled out across the other airports.
This integrated approach enables airports to move away from fragmented, hardware-based operations toward a centralized and digital control environment. Operations that were previously managed through physical controls -such as airfield lighting -are now fully digitalized and managed via screen-based interfaces, significantly improving usability and operational oversight.

Delivering in one of the world’s most remote environments

Despite these challenges, ACAMS has successfully delivered its systems at Nuuk and is progressing steadily across the remaining sites, working closely with partners and local stakeholders. The result is a modernized operational environment that supports the continued development of Greenland’s aviation infrastructure.
