ATIS

The ACAMS ATIS is a computerized ATIS/D-ATIS - VOLMET/D-VOLMET information system automatically generating a speech message from data and text input. The module is equipped with a user friendly interface allowing the message to be composed with a minimum of operator input. Parameters that are monitored by the system are automatically extracted from the ACAMS real time database. Other standard information is entered by simply entering the parameter values and the system will generate the complete message automatically. It is also possible to add a free text message when required.

ACAMS COTS software and Hardware solutions make it easy to customise the product to small or large airports or military airfields. ACAMS range of ATIS solutions includes single PC solution to fully redundant multi-workstation systems including message handling and management systems for country-wide Datalink ATIS management.

The ACAMS ATIS- VOLMET may also be supplied as an integral module of a comprehensive ACAMS integrated tower system.

Functional Description

The ACAMS ATIS- VOLMET provides the user with the facility to automatically generate ATIS/VOLMET formatted voice and data messages. The module is equipped with a user friendly interface allowing the message to be composed with a minimum of operator input.

Parameters that are monitored by the system are stored in the ACAMS real-time database and automatically extracted and inserted into the ATIS/VOLMET message. Other standard information is entered by simply entering the parameter values and the system will generate the complete message automatically. It is also possible to add a free text message when required.

When the message is activated the client program generates the complete text message and transfers this to the server.

The server program generates the analogue and digital format ATIS-VOLMET messages. COTS speech synthesiser software is used thereby allowing the latest available speech generator technology to be utilised. The analogue audio output of the server is fed to the VHF/UHF/HF ATIS-VOLMET radio transmitter. The digital data output is fed to the AFTN, Aeronautical Information Service or CPDLC Datalink (e.g ARINC/SITA) as appropriate.
